![]() * Bioshock is an okay FPS with great art direction, setting, and storyline. So, just to review so someone else doesn't distort my words: He oversells every little detail to an absurd amount. I'll also add this link of Ken Levine over-hyping the RPG elements. It's an okay FPS but falls flat on its ass in terms of its ARPG elements (although it has far more than Bioshock does). ![]() I hold roughly the same estimation of Borderlands. But it wasn't billed as a pure FPS and as an RPG/FPS it fails badly (and I provided a video review link of why it does so if you're curious). The 'nostalgia hater/double standard' memes are as tiresome as the 'cool to hate' memes most of you loathe so how about we drop both and actually stick to actual critiques of the game?Īs I said in my original post - in its unedited by third parties form - if you want to treat Bioshock as a pure FPS, it's fine. There's that one video out there where he parrots 'choices and consequences' half a dozen times but other than whether to save the little sisters or harvest the adam there are no real choices and consequences in the game. Moreover, as another poster above pointed out if you look at the early teaser/developer walkthroughs of Bioshock, Ken Levine hyped it as having a fair amount of RPG elements. ![]() Again, I have no problem if people want to call Bioshock a good first person shooter. ![]()
